The Unity of Heaven and Man; Harmonizing Yin and Yang
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wellness emphasizes the harmonious unity between humans and nature, positing that the human body should align with the cyclical changes of the four seasons by regulating daily routines and dietary habits. By harmonizing Yin and Yang, unblocking the meridians, and regulating Qi and Blood, one can attain an optimal state of physical and mental well-being.
The *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon) states: “The people of high antiquity—those who understood the Way—patterned themselves after the principles of Yin and Yang, harmonized their lives with the arts of numerology, maintained moderation in their diet and drink, and adhered to a regular daily routine. They did not overexert themselves unnecessarily; thus, their physical forms and spirits remained united, allowing them to fulfill their full natural lifespan—living beyond one hundred years before passing away.”
